Share a CBCT with the patient in one click

Skip the CD. Skip the WeTransfer. Send the patient a private link they can open on any device — no install, no account, no technical support call.

Try patient sharing

Why link sharing beats CDs and email

  • Patients open the scan on phone, laptop or iPad without installing anything.
  • Private, revocable link with optional password and expiry.
  • Each link access is logged so you know when the patient viewed the scan.
  • The recipient gets the full interactive viewer, not just a flat image.
  • Replaces the CD reader nobody has anymore.
  • Works with files from any CBCT brand — Planmeca, Carestream, Sirona, Vatech, Morita and more.

How the workflow works

Upload the CBCT to CBCTHub once. Generate a share link. Send it by SMS, email or WhatsApp. The patient clicks and sees their scan in the same viewer the clinician uses — three orthogonal planes, 3D reconstruction, measurements.

Revoke the link at any time from the dashboard. Set an expiry date for sensitive cases. Protect with a one-time password sent by SMS if your compliance policy requires it.

Why patients prefer it

Modern laptops and phones do not have CD drives. A patient who receives a CD usually cannot open it at home and ends up calling the clinic for help, or worse, shows the CD to a specialist who also cannot read it.

A link removes the friction. The patient opens their scan in the waiting room, the living room, or the car. They can zoom, rotate, and see exactly what the dentist pointed at on the monitor.

Compliance and consent

Before sharing any scan, record the patient consent per your local regulation. CBCTHub generates share links that are private by default and revocable. Access is logged with timestamp and IP for audit. HIPAA-ready workflows are available on Pro and Clinic plans with a signed BAA.

For EU and UK clinics, storage regions can be pinned to the EU and we offer a DPA on request.

FAQ

Does the patient need to create an account?

No. They click the link and the viewer opens. An optional password can be added for extra protection.

Is the shared link secure?

Yes. Links use long random tokens that cannot be guessed. They can be revoked instantly, time-limited, and password-protected.

Can the patient download the DICOM from the link?

Only if you enable download on the link. Default is view-only.
